The bulk of this proposal would be no harmful to privacy than normal hyperlinks, the only difference would be in how the response is rendered.
The exception ofcourse would be with polling, and as such it should require permission. However this confirmation prompt can be rendered subtly enough so as to encourage people not to grant it.

Polling should also only be allowed for GET requests not uploading any dynamic data from the page as that my capture undesired data. These are the same constraints links should communicate to readers.
On the otherhand I'd consider it perfectly safe for text inputs to auto-upload any changes to the server, as they have an even better opportunity than links to communicate that action.
